Our nursing home fulfills the needs of its residents. Most of the residents are debilitated or unable to walk. My Dad and I are the only ones that are able to walk and think cogently, in my estimation. What I wish for is to live with my Dad in a house of our own. IContinue reading “My Wish”

Roadblock
My Dad and I want to visit our homeland someday. Dad lost his passport a few years ago and in the process of moving out of our house he lost his naturalization certificate. It seems it’s going to be hard to get him a passport because of these setbacks. I spoke to a couple ofContinue reading “Roadblock”
Good News
I’m happy to say that a couple of days ago I looked at my publisher’s website and saw that four books I wrote were sold. One book, Life Lessons, sold two copies. My romance novel The Bridge sold a copy. My book about Jesus Christ sold a copy. My book titled My Mother’s Last DaysContinue reading “Good News”
Aftermath
It has been a couple of weeks since they took out my feeding tube. They placed a dressing over the wound. Sometimes when I exert my stuff there would be a leak. So they had to change the dressing more than once a day. But since yesterday they have only changed the dressing once aContinue reading “Aftermath”
Exasperation
I’m exasperated. I’m now waiting for dinner. I don’t know what I ordered. But I’m feeling useless here. My job is to eat food and get weighed every week. Other than that I am not working. I wish I could work on a story that I started last year. But the trips to the hospitalContinue reading “Exasperation”
Evening Thoughts
It’s after 7:30. The hurly burly of the day has died down. Dinner trays have been collected and meds have been dispensed to the residents. Our nurse is finishing up and preparing for the next day. Residents are settling down in their beds and some have the television on. Some are looking through their cellphonesContinue reading “Evening Thoughts”
Stuck
My weight today is 111.6. It’s been like this for a few days. I’m glad it’s this weight because I don’t want to lose weight anymore. I’ve been eating better and whatever the kitchen comes up with, I’m ready for it.
All About a Book
I’m delighted. I looked at my publisher’s website and saw that a book I wrote has been sold today. It’s lovely that someone picked my book to read. I’m very happy. I’m inspired to go on writing. Being in a nursing home I don’t have a computer or printer that has my writing software toContinue reading “All About a Book”
Friday
It’s Friday evening. I’m resting in bed after sitting with my Dad. Dad had a late supper. He ate most of his food. He’s resting now in his recliner. He started humming to himself. I think he likes it here in our nursing home. However, when I told him I talked to Social Security toContinue reading “Friday”
Tube Feed
I’m on tube feed. A tube connects me to a pump that feeds my stomach with liquid food that’s is nutrient rich. I have been on tube feeding for over two months now. I’m now eating more easy to chew foods having graduated from puréed foods. I’m still trying out foods that are chewy. IContinue reading “Tube Feed”
