This wish grew from my childhood and teenage years. I had a lot of fun reading books. My high school days were spent reading English literature. I had a dream to visit England and see the sights. Visiting Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and Stratford-on-Avon. Later on my taste in books were about mysteries. Agatha Christie andContinue reading “My Wish”

A Day in May
It’s almost the end of May. Today the nursing home was abuzz with activity from the nursing staff. The residents who normally sit in the rotunda where the nurses station is located are a bit confused by what is happening. The painters are working on the walls and giving them a spit and shine. BackContinue reading “A Day in May”
My Wish
Our nursing home fulfills the needs of its residents. Most of the residents are debilitated or unable to walk. My Dad and I are the only ones that are able to walk and think cogently, in my estimation. What I wish for is to live with my Dad in a house of our own. IContinue reading “My Wish”
Roadblock
My Dad and I want to visit our homeland someday. Dad lost his passport a few years ago and in the process of moving out of our house he lost his naturalization certificate. It seems it’s going to be hard to get him a passport because of these setbacks. I spoke to a couple ofContinue reading “Roadblock”
Good News
I’m happy to say that a couple of days ago I looked at my publisher’s website and saw that four books I wrote were sold. One book, Life Lessons, sold two copies. My romance novel The Bridge sold a copy. My book about Jesus Christ sold a copy. My book titled My Mother’s Last DaysContinue reading “Good News”
A Day of Ups and Downs
This morning I woke up early. I decided to sit and check my email and look into my publisher’s website. I was surprised to see that three more of my books were sold. That makes a total of five books! I was ecstatic. This confirmed that my books are reaching readers. For a while IContinue reading “A Day of Ups and Downs”
A Cheerful Aide
This weekend our hallway has a nurse’s aide named Denise. She works weekends. I remember that she works double shift on weekends. So when I saw her today I asked if she was working until 11pm. She started working at 7am. Denise shook her head and said she will work until 7am tomorrow. I wasContinue reading “A Cheerful Aide”
The Saddest Place
I think you can guess what my blog post title refers to. It’s this place. My current home. I’m surrounded by people who are burdened with pain, crippled limbs, immobile in a wheelchair with a broken body. There are residents who shout out loud in their unconsciousness because they are in a hellish place inContinue reading “The Saddest Place”
Aftermath
It has been a couple of weeks since they took out my feeding tube. They placed a dressing over the wound. Sometimes when I exert my stuff there would be a leak. So they had to change the dressing more than once a day. But since yesterday they have only changed the dressing once aContinue reading “Aftermath”
Freedom
I’m free!!! I’m free of the feeding tube!!! The nurse took it out by pulling the tube out of my belly. It didn’t hurt. It feels good to be free of the tube. Now I have to think about our future. We don’t want to live in this place forever.
