I think you can guess what my blog post title refers to. It’s this place. My current home. I’m surrounded by people who are burdened with pain, crippled limbs, immobile in a wheelchair with a broken body. There are residents who shout out loud in their unconsciousness because they are in a hellish place in their minds. A few feuds erupt between residents. Today I witnessed a young man who was resting his hands on his walker saying to an older man that he hated him. The older man responded saying he accepted his words.
We have to shut the door after medications are taken to make the noise of blaring televisions from neighboring rooms die away so we can sleep.
Some days are bearable. I say a prayer for God to keep us safe in this facility. The nurses and aides are good. We haven’t seen the doctor in weeks. It’s a little depressing. But I pray that something will happen to deliver us from this nursing home.
