I’m starting a new story. But I am reluctant to expand it to further chapters. I don’t know where it’s going. I know, I know, I have to have a story with a plot. I feel that the characters are running the story, not me. You say, Hey, what the hey, if they’re running the story to its conclusion, you’ve got it made. But my Muse feels ambivalent. I’ve never written a story with the male lead character is me, as a man. I don’t have brothers, nor sisters. I just have my Dad and he’s way too old to fashion the lead male character with his attributes. Plus, they have different careers. I have a better lead for the female character. I think it might be best to keep these characters in the USA, and not in England. I don’t know why, but I like England as a backdrop for my story. I haven’t visited England, but I follow English stories on Instagram. The usual thing is to establish the story in a familiar place, a place where I used to live – and that’s in New York City. However, with what’s happening in New York City with the crime and migrant crisis, it’s going to be difficult to have an optimistic spirit for the story I’m writing.
So I pray to God Almighty to steer me to a good location and I’ve only been to a few cities that I can remember. I’ve lived in Indianapolis and then moved to New Haven, and then moved to New York (Queens). I think my brief visit to LA won’t count, so I am passing on LA.
The other problem is that these venues are in my past and there have been progressive changes in New York, New Haven and Queens. I think I’ll follow New York and New Haven and Queens on social media to reacquaint me with these locations. What do you think?
