Dreams

As I go through my experience of nursing care, I find that the things that I want to do are somewhat curtailed. I love to eat but the menu in my nursing home is very limited. I love eating Filipino food, Thai and Indian foods. I used to make curry rice, adobo chicken and pork, and go out to my favorite Thai restaurant. I used to eat ribeye steaks with my Dad. He made steaks taste so good. Now I have to make do with the food they serve here.

I have good friends that could take me out to eat, or sometimes they bring food. I wish they would get the idea to take me out for lunch. That would be great!

Right now, I look at food blogs on Instagram. I follow the Filipino blogs and vicariously eat their recipes. One of them owns a thriving restaurant in the Philippines. They charge a lot of pesos for a three course meal. But the exchange rate is on the US dollar side. Anyone from the US can live in the Philippines easily if they wish.

So I guess I can resign myself to having a diet that is uninspired, until I gain enough weight to merit discontinuing my feed. I guess the lesson for you, my dear Reader, is to taste and eat the food that you enjoy. There’s nothing worse than being subject to the decisions of the kitchen cook and being tied to a feed. But I must admit the feed gives me nutrition and helps me meet my weight goals.
