Why Travel?

It’s a cool morning in my city today. The air is chilly. I received pictures from a friend who went to Mexico for the holidays. The pictures look colorful and depicted the way of life in several cities in Mexico. I call my friend brave for traveling to Mexico. For one thing, the border is not too far from Mexico and she might be targeted by the enemy for a nab. I said a prayer for her safety. She went with a friend. She’s been to many countries, including France, England and Spain. Those were when the days in Europe were less volatile. Now with the Ukraine Russia war happening, I hesitate to think of traveling to the cities where I would want to visit.

I think traveling is good if the agency has a good reputation for safety. I remember when my Mother went to Medjugorje and stopped over Prague to visit the Infant Jesus of Prague’s shrine. She was in such a deep prayer that she got lost and couldn’t find her tripmates. Fortunately, she saw one of them and they led her back to the group.

I think the first thing to do is to buy a travel book. I have one for England by Rick Steves. It would be a nice thing to visit London and taste all the good food they have. I’d like to visit the Cotswolds. And Yorkshire and Scotland, too. One of these days, I’ll have enough money to visit and have the right companions to go with.

For now, I’ll ruminate and think of traveling in a different plane of thought.
