Yesterday afternoon I had a job interview with someone in a regulatory field where they were looking for help in their business. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to have a full-time job and asked her if they might make this position a part-time job. She said no. So we didn’t have much else to say to each other and we rang off. I would rather write full time, or at least most of the time. I think that regulatory posts have a tendency to get too much stress and a great deal of attention from higher ups. I don’t feel the wish to be looked at with a lot of criticism. I happen to do regulatory work well and I had an experience at my last position where I was being intimidated and got unhappy with the people who were hoping that I would leave. It was a toxic atmosphere. I’m lucky to get out of there with my life intact.
I think for those who are still in the workforce, having to think about jumping ship will be something like this – you have to decide if you want the same sort of job or something else because you’ll likely see the same types of people in your next job. And that won’t do. I wrote about this in my book, LIFE LESSONS: RUMINATIONS ON LIFE AS A HUMAN ON EARTH. It’s on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It’s also on audio. I hope everyone will think about their futures as though their lives depended on it. It’s very important because your lives are your wealth. It’s really better, I think, to be poor or somewhat unfortunate than rich because if you’re rich you’ll bound to be a target for bastards who want to take your money, your wife and your children away from you. That also includes your possessions, so I hope this will be something that you can think about.
Being someone who can work for themselves is a good thing. It will take a bit of doing. But working for yourself means you’re sweating the energy to give yourself a living. I think these days of the pandemic people have lost their jobs and are making an effort to find a job that will be able to be resistant to being unemployed, should another wave of the COVID virus happen. It might be useful to look into self-help books to see where you can get into a business that will serve you well and give you a sense of satisfaction that you were able to pull yourself up by your bootstraps. However, I’d strongly suggest prayer because prayer works. It worked for me. God is good always. He hears your prayers and you can tell Him what worries you, your cares and your plans for the future, and He’ll help you go through Life. And He’ll give you a Job for the future and forever.
